Voice at Alabama |
Welcome to the voice area of the University of Alabama School of Music. For prospective students, we have prepared pages about our offerings. Information about our undergraduate and graduate programs are available. We have a variety of ensembles available for singers, including a flourishing opera program. Current students can keep up with voice area events, as well as obtain course information, syllabi, and required forms on our undergraduate programs and graduate programs pages. Our faculty is made up of dedicated and experienced professionals who are committed to each singer's individual development. In recent years, the School of Music has had numerous nationally and internationally acclaimed artists visit our campus to give concerts and master classes. Some of our renowned guests have included Marilyn Horne, Benita Valente, Tatiana Troyanos, Samuel Ramey, William Warfield, Jerome Hines, Warren Jones, and Marvis Martin. Our School of Music, housed in the splendid Frank Moody Music Building, is a division of the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Alabama, the state's capstone institution of higher education. For more information, explore this site or feel free to contact Dr. Susan Fleming, area coordinator and professor of voice, at sfleming@music.ua.edu.
