Auditions are required of all students who wish to study voice at the University of Alabama. Please click here for specific audition requirements; you may also wish to consult the School of Music's information on undergraduate admissons and scholarships.

We have prepared a list of tips for new students that may make your transition to our campus as pleasant and hassle-free as possible. If you are transferring to the School of Music from another college or university, click here for guidance on specific issues that transfer students often face.

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Music degree in voice performance must satisfy the University's core curriculum, the general music group required of all music majors, and specific courses in diction, vocal pedagogy, and song literature. An advising guide for voice majors, including a four-year sample schedule plan, is available here.

The following links will be of interest to current voice majors:

• Students can now complete their jury sheets online. Simply fill out the form, print 4 copies, and bring them with you to your jury. A computer with a fairly recent version of Microsoft Word is required.
• Students may also download the jury sheet in the traditional format as well as the repertoire sheet in Word format.
• Information on the sophomore qualifying examination, which all voice majors and principals must pass at the end of their fourth semester of applied study.
