Dr. Judy Bowers 2007-08 Endowed Chairholder in Music Education

Dr. Judy Bowers is Professor of Choral Music Education at The Florida State University. She has served on the faculty of the College of Music since 1990; earlier in her career, she taught choral music and general music in Texas and Alaska across a span of a dozen years. She has published and presented refereed research in choral music education in regional, national, and international venues. Textbook chapters on structuring success in middle school choruses and on classroom management have guided countless preservice music educators. As a conductor, she has led 74 Honor/All State choruses since 1990, including two engagements conducting the Carnegie Hall National Honor Choir.
