We are proud of our School. Our faculty boasts some of the finest teachers, researchers, and performers in the United States. Our student body exhibits the greatest ability, diversity, and initiative. Students have achieved notable success in all facets of the music profession, including performance, scholarship, composition, education, and therapy.
Each year the School brings renowned musicians to campus to perform and teach. An equally stellar group of musical scholars comes to campus each year through our Endowed Chair in Music. During the 2002-03 academic year, we had a series of renowned musicologists here, exploring performance practice across several centuries of music. The 2003-04 year brought renowned theorists Carl Schachter, Joseph Straus, and William Rothstein, as well as composer Tristan Murail.
